The room was very clean, bed was very comfy. The parking lot is easy to get in and out of. The lobby had an adorable Bob Ross Plush on the mantelpiece by the fireplace which was extremely cute and cozy. Hailey at the front desk went above and beyond. I'd left my Kindle behind and gone back for it at 9pm the next day and she went all the way to the room and fished it out from the space between the bed and nightstand where I'd dropped it. The hospitality is excellent

The lobby was very tidy and smelled nice. Check in was easy and we were given great directions to our room. The hallways were clean and looked like a normal hotel hallway. We walked in our room and were pleasantly surprised by laminate floors and a fresh, clean scent. Overall this was a great stay.

We got the king suite with jacuzzi. First impressions, a little dated but smelled amazing- clean as hell. Jacuzzi was nice, but you gotta turn the hot water all the way on with out the cold. Takes a while, but worth it! Bed was okay, not too hard or soft. Very bouncy. Our blinds didnt close all the way when they were pushed together though. There was still a gap. This is smalland nitpicky though. Breakfast was okay. All carby stuff, waffles were delightful, would have been nice to have hardboiled eggs or something though for diabetics. They did supply sugar free syrup tho! Tiffany who checked us in was delightful and helpful. Overnight staff was also sweet and helpful. I didn't get her name, she had orange hair and a cold. The mexican restaurant was okay. Pretty affordable but very bland, i had to ask for ot sauce which helped immensely. Attentive staff and very clean, an incredible atmosphere as well.

Very basic hotel, definitely older but they're making improvements and it's looking really good. Smells a little musty but still very clean. We just needed and overnight room so this hit the spot we needed it too. We didn't check out the amenities like the pool, but the front desk was helpful in pointing us in the right direction. They offer breakfast, but we had other plans. Breakfast was 6 am to 9 am. Overall would recommend if you're looking for something easy! Not the Ritz but well worth the stay!

I returned to Iowa city after almost 13 years. The last time I was in this town, I spent the night at the double tree hotel in downtown. This time, I traveled in company of my sister and niece. I spent two nights in this hotel, and I recommend it. The building is an old hotel design that still functions. The design is probably from the 1970s, yet the room I was is remodeled. The hallways need new carpet because it it faded, however that doesn't affect anyone staying there. Our room was remarkably clean, and everything was in order. There was cold and hot water when needed, and a hot timed heater that worked every time I used it. A large TV hanged from the wall, and despite being next to Highway 80, the room is sound proof. So insulation is strong. There was no noise coming from the outside or even the highway. I dare to say the curtains are also sound proof. There is no elevator and the pool was out of service and close for maintenance. I don't remember seeing a gym. Breakfast was not the best one, but you get what you pay for. I seldom select a hotel offering breakfast. I am on my diet, so I rarely take advantage of breakfast. I think some eggs and baked sausage is all left to be added to complement the menu, but I assume they will have to hire a cook. The front desk ladies take care of the breakfast and kept it resupplied. I have no complaints about the staff of the hotel. They were very helpful, even when I asked questions about the local bus. It began to snow in the morning of February 20ths, and when the day came, a truck cleared the snow off the road in the property. The area around the hotel is pretty safe. There is a Mexican restaurant next to the hotel, which I didn't visit because I don't care for the cuisine, maybe it was just Chinese I would have. The local bus route number 7 stops a short distance from the hotel, you can take it and ride for free. It takes you directly to downtown, near the old Capitol building. Well, I have to stop here. I have other things to do.

The room was a good size & the area was being well maintained. Breckfast was good but some what limited only because it could have had a few more choices. My husband struggled with the limited choices. The front desk staff ie manager was very pleasant. I will return to this well kept & value for the money hotel.

Heather and the rest of the staff are top noch! Very friendly service! Everything was as advertised and room and lobby were sparkling clean. Bed was super comfy and there was even a super nice gaming style desk chair. Already planning on staying here again next time i am in town. mini fridge was on the larger size and even had a seprate compartment for the freezer.
